What is a Second?
In elite chess, a Second supports the player through preparation, research, analysis, challenge and exploration of possible lines. The point is not to take the move away from the Grandmaster. It is to improve the quality of preparation around the person accountable for it.

The CEO has the broadest responsibility across the company and the least time to investigate every technology, workflow, data boundary and implementation consequence.

Where does AI fit?
AI can widen analysis, synthesise information, support language work and help explore options. It is one part of the preparation. It is not the Grandmaster, not the entire architecture and not a substitute for business ownership.
